Lost boys of Sudan

One of Dinka boy, who was named Peter, was chosen to migrate to Kansas, America. Peter was born in Sudan; nevertheless he ran away to Kenya, because of civil war, one that raged for over 20 years. When Peter migrated to Kansas, he had many difficulties. Actually Peter exceeded the age of going to the high school. But he didn’t registrant when he was born, so he made a new one in America as 17 years old and he could go the high school. Americans thought that Peter wouldn’t be smart. When a girl interviewed Peter, she described Peter as a refugee. It was a stereotype and it could make Peter sad. He weren’t really taken care of. Peter was alone. He could not find many refugees at there. Peter was satisfied to take the education, but Peter was not good at English and other subjects. Therefore he had hard time to follow the classes. Even though he liked basketball and good at it, it was tough to follow all the courses as Americans did.

America and Kenya were really different, therefore Peter had culture shock with education and artificial friendship. When he went to the USA, he started to learn many things, nevertheless he was hard to get used to them. When Peter was in refugee camp, he only knew how to speak English and didn’t really prepare to get education. But Peter worked hard and got better. Peter was novel to them, because he was the only one who was a refugee in his school. Students didn’t really hang out with Peter. There was a girl who was loved by Peter and Peter prepared a doll and caught a bird to show that how much he loves her. However it would be strange to the girl, because Americans don’t catch a bird to show their love. Although Peter experienced different things in the USA, he solved.
